Quality Assurance for Precision Injection Molding & Plastic Connector Molds

Implemented measures:

1. Install surveillance cameras to avoid mold crushing.
2. Dry ice mold cleaning every 6 hours to clear carbon deposits on cavities and vents.
3. Apply titanium coating on mold surfaces to enhance hardness, wear resistance and anti-sticking performance.

Additional quality control solutions:

1. Mold Safety & Structural Optimization
Add low-pressure clamping protection and part detection sensors. The machine halts automatically if parts remain inside the mold. Equip ejector pin limit switches to prevent collision.
Optimize venting and cooling channels for balanced mold temperature, eliminating bubbles and burning marks. Prepare spare wear parts such as ejector pins and inserts. Complete polishing before titanium coating to reduce sticking and carbon buildup.
2. Raw Material Management
Standardize drying processes for engineering plastics (PA, PBT, PC+GF) to avoid silver streaks and bubbles. Control regrind ratio consistently. Install magnetic racks to block metal debris from scratching mold cavities.
3. Stable Molding Process
Document fixed process parameters via formal sheets. All adjustments must be recorded as ECN. Avoid long melt residence time which creates carbon deposits. Maintain steady mold temperature to minimize dimensional deviation and warpage.
4. Standard Mold Maintenance

– Every 6h: Dry ice cleaning
– Daily: Lubricate guide components; check ejection system
– Weekly: Inspect cooling circuits and titanium coating condition
– Monthly: Full mold disassembly for thorough inspection
Fully dry cavities after dry ice cleaning to prevent condensation and rust. Apply anti-rust agent during long production stops.

5. In-process Quality Inspection
Enforce first article inspection before mass production. Conduct QC patrols every 1–2 hours. Set up reference samples to unify judging standards for appearance and dimensions.
6. Workshop Operation Specifications
Follow official SOPs. Hard tools and steel brushes are prohibited on coated mold surfaces to protect titanium coating.

– Sticking parts: Optimize draft angle + titanium coating, moderate release agent usage
– Flash: Monitor clamping force and check parting surface wear
– Warpage: Optimize cooling layout, packing and ejection balance
– Burn marks & carbon deposits: Reasonable venting + regular dry ice cleaning

1. Install low-pressure protection & part detectors (core prevention of mold crushing)
2. Standardize material drying and lock molding parameters
3. Upgrade venting and cooling systems
4. Implement first article inspection and regular QC patrols
5. Complete routine lubrication and anti-rust maintenance
